Finding the right therapist is an important and deeply personal decision. You deserve the opportunity to get a sense of whether someone feels like the right fit before committing to therapy.
At Moonrise Therapy, we offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to give you a chance to connect, share a little about what is bringing you to therapy, ask questions, and learn more about how we may work together.
There is no pressure and no expectation that you have everything figured out before reaching out. You can come with questions, uncertainty, or simply a feeling that you’re ready for something to change.
Our hope is that you leave the consultation feeling a little more supported and a little clearer about your next step. If Moonrise Therapy feels like the right fit, we can talk about what beginning therapy together might look like. And if your needs would be better supported elsewhere, we can help point you toward care that may be a better fit. Either way, you deserve support that feels right for you.
Reaching out can feel vulnerable. You don’t have to know exactly what to say or where to begin and we can start with a simple conversation.

Therapy doesn’t always fit neatly into one timeframe. Depending on what you’re working through, you may appreciate the consistency of a traditional session or find that having additional time allows you to feel less rushed and more present in the process.
50-Minute Sessions
Our standard therapy session offers dedicated time to slow down, check in with yourself, and explore what feels most important that day. This session length works well for ongoing individual, couples and relationship, and sex therapy while providing a consistent rhythm for your care.90-Minute Extended Sessions
Sometimes, having more time can help you settle into the therapeutic space without feeling like you need to rush through what matters. Extended sessions provide additional room for deeper exploration and may be especially supportive for couples and relationship therapy, sex therapy, EMDR, or times when you simply need more space to process.Together, we can determine which session length feels most supportive for you and the work you’re doing. Your therapy doesn’t need to look a certain way to be meaningful, and it can move at a pace that honors you, your needs, and your process.

We believe it’s important for you to have clear information about the financial side of therapy so you can make the decision that feels right for you.
Individual Therapy — $200 per 50-minute session
Couples & Relationship Therapy — $215 per 50-minute session
Reduced-Fee Options
We understand that the cost of therapy can be an important consideration. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are available, depending on current availability. If cost is a concern, please feel comfortable asking about these options. We want conversations about finances to feel open, respectful, and free from judgment.
Insurance & Out-of-Network Benefits
Moonrise Therapy does not accept insurance and is considered an out-of-network provider. However, we are happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits.
Because every insurance plan is different, we cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for services. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to learn more about your specific out-of-network benefits, deductible, and potential reimbursement.
We know that investing in therapy is a personal decision. You are always welcome to ask questions about fees, reduced-fee availability, or superbills so that you can make an informed choice about your care without pressure or judgment.

Life can be unpredictable, and sometimes plans need to change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible. This allows us the opportunity to offer that time to another client who may be waiting for an appointment.
We also understand that not everything can be planned for. Illness, health-related concerns, and emergencies happen, and you should never feel pressured to attend therapy when you need to take care of yourself or respond to an urgent situation. You will not be charged a cancellation fee for these circumstances.
More than anything, we ask that you communicate with us as soon as you’re able. If something unexpected comes up, please reach out. We understand that life is complicated, and these situations will always be approached with compassion and understanding.
Taking care of yourself sometimes means changing plans. Our cancellation policy is here to support consistency and respect for everyone’s time, not to punish you when life happens.

At Moonrise Therapy, we believe you deserve transparency, respect, and a clear understanding of your rights as a client. The information below is provided to help you feel informed and empowered when making decisions about your care.
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Under the federal No Surprises Act, individuals who do not have health insurance or who choose not to use their insurance to pay for services generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of their care.
A Good Faith Estimate helps you understand the anticipated cost of therapy before receiving services. It is not a bill, and we encourage you to keep a copy for your records.
You have the right to:
Receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected charges for your therapy services when applicable.
Request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services.
Receive a Good Faith Estimate after scheduling services, within the timeframes required by federal law.
Keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate so you can compare it with future bills.
Dispute a bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process if an eligible provider or facility charges you at least $400 more than the expected charges listed on your Good Faith Estimate.
We want the financial aspects of therapy to feel as clear and transparent as possible. You are always welcome to ask questions about your fees or Good Faith Estimate.
For additional information about your rights under the No Surprises Act, visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) website or contact the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
Access to Your Mental Health Records
You have the right to request access to your mental health records in accordance with applicable state and federal law.
If you would like to request your records, please submit your request in writing to your provider. Requests may be submitted through an appropriate method such as email, secure client portal, or mail.
Texas law includes provisions regarding a patient's access to mental health records, including Texas Health & Safety Code §§ 611.0045 and 611.008.
If you have questions about accessing your records, please feel welcome to ask. We want you to understand your rights and feel comfortable asking questions about your care.
Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council
You have the right to ask questions about your therapist's professional license or to file a complaint regarding a licensed behavioral health professional.
The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) oversees licensed professional counselors and other behavioral health professionals in Texas.
